I believe that instructional design for mathematics should focus on giving mathematics a ‘real-life’ purpose that each student can see and recognize. I believe in the ‘I Investigate, I Illustrate, I Theorize’ approach to mathematics.
I design digital, technological, and physical content that focuses on planning lessons to include this three-step approach to learning math. I have also designed lessons that allow students to visualize mathematical concepts, understand the purpose of these concepts through modeling and application, and then allow them to draw conclusions from their discoveries.
